Employee Spotlight: Jeremy - Building UI Foundations
Meet Jeremy Kim, Consio’s full-stack developer focused on frontend craft, building UI foundations, reusable components, and polished product experiences.
Jeremy Kim joined Consio in June 2024 as a Full Stack Developer, bringing a focus on code quality, product clarity, and the craft of shipping things that feel polished in production. While he can contribute across the stack, Jeremy’s day-to-day work is primarily focused on the frontend: building Consio’s UI and product interfaces, and making sure the product experience feels cohesive for customers.
A big part of Jeremy’s impact is how he collaborates. He works closely with Mathieu, Consio’s Product Designer, on design-to-code handoffs to ensure what ships matches the intended experience. The result is a product that isn’t just functional, but clean, consistent, and customer-friendly.
Building Consio’s UI foundations
When Jeremy arrived, Consio had no real frontend or UI foundation. In a year and a half, he helped build the interface layer from the ground up, turning early product needs into reusable components, consistent patterns, and a UI that feels professional rather than stitched together.
That foundation has been important for shipping features, but also for enabling faster iteration: once the UI system is in place, the team can move quickly without sacrificing consistency.
Unlocking frontend capability for the team
Because many engineers at Consio are backend-focused, Jeremy also plays a key role in leveling up the team’s frontend capabilities. He mentors teammates on frontend best practices and helps them feel confident contributing to UI work. In return, he benefits from the team’s backend strength, a collaboration loop that makes the whole engineering group more versatile.
Outside of work
Jeremy loves drawing and is naturally drawn to design and art. He also enjoys experimenting with 3D projects. That creative side feeds back into his work every day: it helps him bridge the gap between what designers envision and what the product ultimately ships.
If you want to see that creative side in action, Jeremy built a small interactive scene as a mix of code and Blender modeling: https://portal-scene-flame.vercel.app/
