Ash from Consio

For Ashwin Sadananthan, the best go-to-market work looks a lot like good engineering: understand the system, spot the constraints, and iterate fast until the output improves. That “systems mindset” has shaped his journey from Mechatronics & Robotics at the University of Leeds to building high-performing sales motions across B2B SaaS and now to helping Consio turn the phone from a cost center into a revenue channel for e-commerce brands.

As Consio’s Founding Account Executive, Ashwin works with Shopify brands to deploy AI voice agents and strategic outbound calling that recover revenue, increase conversions, and deepen customer relationships.

From robotics to revenue: a path built on curiosity

Ashwin’s early background is rooted in problem-solving and leadership. At Leeds, he balanced rigorous technical studies with community roles and exploration. Serving as a course representative, joining a book club and even took up swing dancing.

His career has been global from the start, spanning the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and now Canada. Along the way, he developed a strong instinct for translating complexity into clarity, whether that meant navigating enterprise environments (including roles at UBS) or building repeatable growth engines in fast-moving startups.

A proud moment: building teams and playbooks that scale

Before Consio, Ashwin helped scale sales outcomes at multiple high-growth orgs but one chapter stands out: respond.io, where he joined as the first sales hire and later became Head of Sales.

In that journey, he helped move the company from founder-led selling to a scalable sales model, built early demos and processes, and contributed to meaningful revenue growth. Later, as Head of Sales, he built and led teams across AEs, SDRs, and partnerships, driving major impact, improving win rates, tightening the sales cycle, and creating a partnership model to support the company’s next stage of growth.

Why Consio: building a category, not just a pipeline

What drew Ashwin in is simple: Consio isn’t just “another channel”, it’s a new way to think about revenue.

Consio gives brands a single place to run outbound campaigns, automate inbound support, and track outcomes (calls, conversions, scripts, objections) with full e-commerce context. Ashwin loves that the product sits at the intersection of human performance and AI leverage, and that the impact is immediately visible in customer conversations.

The Consio culture that helps him thrive

In early-stage companies, velocity matters, but so does trust. Ashwin is energized by environments where people take ownership, share feedback quickly, and build together. At Consio, he’s focused on helping shape the early go-to-market foundations: refining messaging, tightening onboarding, and making sure every customer insight loops back into product improvements.

Outside of work

Ashwin enjoys learning about new cultures and places. Having recently moved to Toronto he is keen to explore all that Toronto and Canada has to offer. He enjoys novelty and looking at the world in different ways, he brings a calm intensity to challenges and a genuine enjoyment of the craft.

“What I love most about Consio is that we’re building a category. When you combine great humans with great AI, the phone becomes a measurable, scalable growth channel, and you can see the impact in real conversations, fast.”
